I'd love to take it off of your hands, but I can't offer nearly what the open market could...

Hitomi has been improved in DOA 5, I feel. I'm really not sure who I'm going to main in this one online, but she's strong, that's for sure.

Yeah, college football is full of crazy and unique offenses. While they try to emulate what some of these teams do, it's really the pro set offenses that work the best with the game's engine. Running the option, the pistol, or a spread is still tough to do, even if it's slowly getting better.

Completely intentional.

Well, you're never going to get rid of product models. So I guess if there going to be a norm, it would be nice if they were at least held to some standards. Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, and a few other publishers use both men and women though, so it's not like they're exclusively looking for "booth babes" in the traditional sense.
I have a lot more to say about Tomb Raider. I'm late posting my E3 wrap up, but there's a few things I'd like to point out in that game that just felt wrong.

Rogue Squadron 1 and 2 were a lot of fun. That series on the GameCube (which includes Rebel Strike) sported some graphics that still look better than a few things you see now. They were mind-blowing in their time, and it's still respectable today. Rebel Strike took a big step backwards with the on foot sections, but the flying was still good.

Good releases this week. I'm still open for looking at WP7 when my phone upgrade cycle comes around again next year.

I dig rhythm games on handhelds that don't just try to mimic instruments. Elite Beat Agents is one of my favorite DS games, and I really would like more stuff like that.

Totally digging these updates. That's a great price for Puzzle Quest 2 as well.

Definitely a gem. My wife and I have had some fun with this one. It looks great, sounds great, and it's entertaining to watch as well as play.

I like that Valve has made their money by providing an excellent service rather than just finding the best way to get the most money out of each of their users.

This is a great little game. The eShop has been providing some nice stuff lately, and people should be keeping an eye on it.

It really should be, Brad. It's an excellent suggestion. Even 2 exclusive media days would do it.

Great review. I've yet to sink my teeth into this one, but I look forward to it. Shmups are tons of fun to get obsessed with for a few days or weeks at a time and just keep making runs at them over and over. This seems like it's built well for that.

It's a great set of games. Go get 'em, people!

I don't hesitate to call him the most important game designer of all time. Thanks to him we have the d-pad, z-targeting, rumble, motion control, and a whole host of other things that are taken for granted as standards today.

It's great news for Wii owners. Between this, Rhythm Heaven, and Skyward Sword, the Wii can offer up some nice titles before everyone jumps to the Wii U.

I don't think I've ever seen a game to move translation look so faithful to its source material's visual style.

This is one that has slipped by me, but I'll need to come around and give it a go. Everybody I know that played it really enjoyed it.

I actually prefer the Battlefield series over Call of Duty, so I've been really hyped up for BF3. Tonight everybody will be hopping online to play, I hope it doesn't kill the servers and get buggy.

I think it's really interesting that they've merged the Assault and Medic classes. It makes sense, because good Medics were always on the front lines anyway.

They would have said Curtis, but you didn't lead enough video game characters to victory to qualify.

It's such a nice looking game. Level 5 always comes through with great art design.

Yeah, it takes a while to be really good at the game. The original SNES game is that much harder. I love the multiplayer in this, but I really wish I could hop online and find some better competition.

I always struggle with finding time to play as much as I want to, and when I do have time, priority goes to the games I'm trying to wrap up for reviews. So I fall into the category of gamer who has a big stack of shame. Every once in a while I do well to clear out a few titles, but if I'm being honest I'll never get through them all.

It's incredible how well this game holds up. Yeah, the levels are short, and yes, the overall game isn't very long, but dang it if I don't want to play through it over and over again. It's a true gem from a generation when many games did not age well.

Well, I just found out I need to have surgery to fix my ankle, so I might as well do it in November and take it easy with some games.

Nice job. It sounds like there's some potential in the series going forward and that this one may be worth checking out despite its drawbacks.

It seems like they're going to be creating a whole weird economy that will exist within their own franchises. I wonder how it'll all be received.

I thought that the bill of materials put the 3DS in at around $100 to produce. Odd.

Oh man, Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road is on my short list of games to buy as soon as I have a bit more space. That and Super/Championship Sprint are so much fun.

The problem, Sean, is that you'll never stop at one or two. I thought I could, and now I've got a whole bunch. I love them though, so it's a good "problem" in the end. They're awesome for parties as well as just for burning up some time when I don't really feel like sitting in front of my TV.

I'm not an MMO guy, but just about anything Star Wars has my interest. I still think the cinematic trailer that they were showing at E3, which is supposed to be the game's intro video, was one of the best pieces of Star Wars media I've ever seen.

Very nice. This is in my list of games that I'll need to come back to. Don't have time right now, but am interested.

Huh, didn't think about wearing them with a hat. They fit fine under headphones, but I'm guessing hats are more snug and kind of occupy the same space behind your ear.

True points, but the price of games is fluid, whereas the content rarely is. You can't really go back and add a star or two to a review when the price drops, so you have to base the final score based on the experience. At that point you have to decide if the experience itself is too short to be saved by quality, regardless of price. It's a weird thing, because movies don't get better reviews for being 3 hours long rather than 2 for providing more value. Books don't have a page count metric that affects their final score. Album reviews care about what's there, and not what else maybe could be. Value based on length is so hard to grapple with.

Well, Nintendo's response was pretty weak, that's for sure. They're burning through their good will quickly, but I think they'll need to come out and clarify their reasoning soon.

I loved the game when it came out. It used to blur pretty badly on those old Game Boy screens, but I always went back to it and I've played through it countless times over the years. I'll need to pick this one up.

One more thing...these things are also great if you spend a lot of time around fluorescent lights. I work directly under a fluorescent fixture and the Gunnars really helped me forget that fact.

I wouldn't put it in the bullet hell category, exactly. It's a lot like a typical Gradius game where the enemies coming at you are as big of a threat as the bullets. Lots of memorizing of enemy patterns and such.

It's a big step up. I think future updates should work out some of the kinks that still remain, but overall it's a much better experience. Good idea to throw the warning out there about losing the save data too. That's a pretty big deal for some people.

This is most likely my game of the year for 2010 on consoles. There was good competition this year, but Mass Effect 2 was pretty amazing start to finish and with its DLC.
