Latest MKast reminds us why we loved Mortal Kombat in the arcades
By: Jeff Rivera

Most of us can remember the first time we saw a Fatality performed in the arcades back when Mortal Kombat burst onto the gaming scene. For me, I was checking out comics in Hansen's Card Shop, a place I used to hit up when I wanted baseball cards, comics, Garbage Pail Kids cards, and to check out what arcade games were lined up along the back wall. Street Fighter II, The Simpsons, X-Men, and other popular titles at the time ruled the scene, but Mortal Kombat drew attention like no other game I had seen before. People crowded around the two people playing, just trying to get a peek of the screen all while hoping to get in and play. The game definitely had a certain wow factor that was undeniable. Check out the video below for a few memories from the original Mortal Kombat team. Once the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection hits PSN and XBLA, we'll be online handing out punishment.
