History of Sonic the Hedgehog book coming this October
By: Jeff Rivera

Sonic the Hedgehog has been one of gaming's most up and down franchises since it debuted back in 1991 on the Sega Genesis. In its early years, Sonic the Hedgehog was a cash cow series for Sega as it helped them go toe to toe with Nintendo during the 16-bit era. Nintendo fans had Mario, Sega had Sonic.
Now, over 20 years since the Blue Blur first came onto the scene, Sega is ready to give fans an inside look at the development of each game in the franchise. In The History of Sonic the Hedgehog, we'll see how each game in the series, including spin-off titles, came about and how it progressed through development. The hardcover book is packed with over 300 pages, and currently it's discounted if you pre-order it on Amazon.com.
For Sonic fans, the book will be a must read and it might prove to be interesting to those with a passing interest of what happened to Sega's flagship mascot as he struggled to make the transition into the post-Dreamcast era. The book is set to release on October 9th with a retail price of $49.99.
