BioShock Infinite release date announced

Last year at E3 2011, BioShock Infinite was my game of the show, and it was a runaway favorite for many others who attended the show. After the mindblowing demo, the first question asked by everybody in the closed door showing was simply, "when does the game come out?"
At the time, 2K and Irrational Games did not have a release date to announce for the game, but this morning Ken Levine officially announced that BioShock Infinite will be availalbe on October 16th, 2012. No word yet on whether or not a collector's edition will be available, but Ken Levine did mention that he would like to do one if possible.
We'll get another chance to get some hands on time with the title in June at E3, but until that point it's back to watching the slow drip of information as it comes out of 2K Games.
