Absolutely thrilled that you enjoyed this game seemingly as much as I do, and I'm sure you can understand my editorial a little better now that you have some experience in the series. Atlus' localization team is essentially second to none.

Being someone who didn't grow up with Nintendo consoles, I lack an attachment or nostalgia with the company. Generally, they don't interest me much outside of the realm of handhelds, but their home consoles have their place (a very important one at that). Every time I see someone claim that "Nintendo is doomed!" I laugh. Nintendo could skip a console generation, continue selling only their first party titles, and STILL be a powerhouse in the industry.

I've tended to steer clear of the NCAA games simply because I'm a Nevada fan, and I have zero faith the the game can competently allow you to run the Pistol Offense the way it's meant to be run.
Looks like I'll keep waiting~

I definitely need to pick this up. It would've been a day 1 purchase if I weren't trying to save money for other things right now, and your review confirms the way I thought the game would turn out. Also, music by Akira Yamaoka and Jimmy Urine? Worth it for that alone!
Also, did you subconsciously choose the screenshot with pinball machines in the background or was that intentional?

I don't know if my heart should be broken or not about Best Driving Game. Criterion knows how to make driving games that are just plain fun. Turn 10 knows how to make super-sims that are accessible to newbies and feature insane customization.
Should I worry about Forza Horizon?

As long as it works to get them free publicity/attention (so, basically as long as the event has a majority male audience), it will continue.

Ah, should've added: Dubstep works for cars in general, I think.

In hindsight, the dubstep track for Forza Horizons worked well for me. It fit really well with the night/street-race/drift scene in the trailer specifically.

Kickstarter can be a beautiful thing. I've seen some good things come from it (in terms of actual finished product).
Also, when you mentioned the voice of Space Ghost, I immediately thought George Lowe. Then I figured it must be original Space Ghost, not Coast 2 Coast.

I imagine WP8 will be going by next year. If it keeps in line with WP7, the Interface is amazing, and it's an incredibly Social phone. I have all my e-mails, facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc linked directly with the phone without he need for Apps.
That said, don't expect a ton of apps. There's a lot, yeah, but it's not an App juggernaut.

I've never been to something as big as E3, but I have gone to some smaller conventions both with a press pass, or as the average joe. These tips are definitely solid. First convention I went to, I crashed HARD in the middle of the second day because I hadn't been taking the time to eat and hydrate enough. After a lunch, I was back into the swing of things an realized I didn't have to run around to see ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, and I should do my best to enjoy that which was important to me.

The only one I'm not too keen on there is Blizzard/Phantasy Star Online.
I think for online iterations, the hub-world/party system works best for the Phantasy Star Online series. Does it need a change up? Absolutely. Going full open-world MMO may not be the best idea though.

I think the #1 problem is the desire of everyone to compare a new game to every game that came before it, rather than on its own merits. Why compare Battlefield and CoD in their reviews? They're definitely trying to accomplish something different (anyone who says otherwise has their eyes closed, frankly), and they do things their own way. Why knock one for something the other one is doing?
Another problem is early reviews. I'm not a fan. Take a look at nearly every launch day review of a game, and they'll all be fairly positive. They're still riding the hype and excitement of a new game. Now, look at a review that launches 1-2 months AFTER launch day. They're far less likely to tax,k on undue praise. I usually don't know if a game is totally awesome until I have some time for it all to sink in, and I think most people feel that way. Rather than the instant gratification of the game when it comes out, it should have time to really sink in and make it's true presence known.
If you're reviewing a candy bar and it tastes amazing, you should probably give it some time to know whether it gives you gas before you go recommending it to everyone.

I've got to agree mostly with this. The game would have been better-served with a strictly 2D design (it's played as a 2D sidescrolling shmup anyways, and it would have looked leaps better).
I also can't understand the slowdown that occurs in the game. There's not an insane amount of things going on when it happens, it just sort of... happens.
I like the game for what it is, but Deathsmiles and Trouble Witches NEO do a much better job of the anime-inspired sidescrolling shmup.

Yes, animation would be preferred, but you KNOW this is going to be awesome.

I don't usually find explosive enemies to be that much of a bother, myself, though to add in with birds and bees, you NEED to have Bats.
They're the ultimate throw away enemy that usually aren't that damaging, but they're ALWAYS there t the worst times and they never ever go away.

Even with the merging of classes, I'll probably stick to more of a BC2 medic role. LMG's to lay down covering fire, and making sure I'm right up there with people taking heat who're better shots than I am.
Every once in awhile, I'll hang near a sniper behind some cover, and if they get picked off, I'll revive 'em. Usually people don't expect snipers to be revived like that.

I LOVE the Battlefield games. For some reason I'm content to run as a Medic and play the heal/revive game. I don't get the glory of a big killing spree, but I do like saving my teammates and letting them do the dirty work.

It's a weird combination that definitely works. It's one of the few puzzle games that really sucked me in to the point where I'd see the blocks moving around in my head for a while after I played. The last puzzle game to do that to me was Puyo Puyo.

Bastion actually came out of nowhere for me. I had heard of it, but never really had the chance to really look into it. I bought it on a whim as the start for the XBOX Live Summer of Arcade, and I fell in love.

Jeff, I'm currently looking at someone selling Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road in town. Love that game so much, and would LOVE to own it. Paul, small world, I know exactly what you're talking about. Almost every pizza joint here has at least one pinball machine. I wasn't aware I could actually buy machines from Tip Top Amusement, I thought they only rented 'em out to businesses. Good to know!

One of the benefits of living in a state that relies so heavily on Casinos is that nearly every casino has at least some form of an arcade. Pinball machines are becoming much harder to find in these casino arcades, but every once in a while you can find a row of 10 or so. I'm hoping to get at least one arcade cab or pinball machine in the near future, but I'll need to save some money before I jump in to do it right.

Being a Nevada Wolf Pack fan, I stayed away from the past NCAA games due to the running game not being up to snuff in order to play my team properly. I'm looking into this year's version though, and hoping I can get some good enjoyment out of it. I wonder if they finally got the Pistol offense running respectably.

"For all the fuss that's being raised now by thousands of Nintendo fans, they better be there with dollars in hand when those experiences that they ask for start hitting the Wii U." That's completely the point. Most of the more 'hardcore' titles launched on the Wii have been met with mediocre sales at best, and there doesn't seem to be much of an incentive to keep trying. Nintendo and all other game publishers are in the business of making money, and if a vocal minority demands certain games, yet doesn't adequately support them then there is no reason to fill that supply when the demand isn't there. I hope they give it another shot, though. Give those fans one last chance to show that they really want this, and NoA may end up surprised.
